As you probably know if you are reading this my name is Tess and I am spending my junior year abroad as an exchange student in Bari Italy. I thought a blog would be an eay way to keep everyone updated and help me to avoid having to repeat the same stories over and over again. I am so excited to leave and while in Italy I will try keeping my blog updated as much as possible. I am going to be living in Bari Italy which is a city of about 400,000 in southern Italy. From Bari there are ferries to Dubrovnik and Greece!!!My host family seems really nice I have a mom Gabriella, a dad Marcello,and one sister a year younger than me named Paola. My host dad travels a lot for his work as an engineer and my host mom is a chemist. I have spoken with my host mom on the phone briefly but she speaks very little english. I have emailed with my host father and sister and they both have good english. My host sister is fluent so that will make things a little easier to start out. The family likes swimming,reading, painting,and movies. They have a house near the ocean that they go to sometimes. They all seem so nice and I am super excited to meet them. I love that I will be living in a big city because it will be such a change. I am going to a school of about 1600 kids and it is a math and science school.
